Cotswold Skip Hire Terms & Condition

Please Read and submit below

By hiring a skip from Cotswold Skip Hire, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions:

1. Skip Hire Period
Skip hire is for 7 days as standard, unless otherwise agreed in advance.
If you require the skip for longer, please contact us to arrange an extension. Additional charges may apply.

We aim to collect all skips between 7-10 days depending on how busy we are - If you need it collected sooner then  please arrange this when booking. 

2. 4 Yard Skip Usage

4 Yard Skips are suitable for general household waste and light garden waste only. Soil, turf, hardcore, rubble and other heavy materials MUST NOT be placed in 4 yard skips due to vehicle weight restrictions. If a 4 yard skip is found to contain these materials then collection may be refused until the contents are removed.

For the disposal of soil, turf, hardcore and any other heavy waste - 2 Yard Skips are available for hire and are the appropriate option for these materials. If you are unsure which skip size or waste type is suitable, please contact us before booking and we are happy to advise.


3. Loading of Skips
All skips must be loaded level to the top of the skip only.
Skips must not be overloaded or filled above the sides.
Overloaded or unevenly loaded skips will be refused collection, and additional charges may apply. 


4. Prohibited Items
The following items must NOT be placed in skips:

  • Food waste

  • Nappies

  • Dog or cat waste

  • Asbestos

  • Chemicals

  • Solvents

  • Petrol or diesel

  • Fridges or freezers

  • Oil-based or water-based paints

  • Sleepers or railway sleepers

  • Creosote

  • Oil or oil-based substances

  • All items listed below in section 5 - We charge extra to collect the items listed below in section 5. If these items are found in skips then additional charges will apply if you haven't pre arrange and pre paid for the collection of these. 

⚠️ Important:
If prohibited items are found, additional charges from £50 will apply, or the skip may be refused.

If these charges remain unpaid, the skip will be returned to you and you will have 2 days to remove all prohibited items.

5. Items Requiring a Separate Quote
Please contact us before ordering for a quote to dispose of the following items:

  • Plasterboard

  • Tyres

  • Mattresses

  • Foam - Including Sofa's, cushions, dog beds, underlay etc. 


6. Batteries
We can collect batteries and car batteries; however, they must be kept separate.
Batteries must not be placed inside skips or bags.


7. Hazardous & Illegal Waste
Hazardous or illegal waste must not be placed in skips under any circumstances.
If hazardous or illegal waste is found, additional charges will apply, and the skip may be refused collection.

8. Responsibility & Risk
All skips are left at the hirer’s risk.
Cotswold Skip Hire accepts no responsibility for damage to driveways, footpaths, private property, or surrounding areas.

9. Skip Movement & Fires
Skips must not be moved once placed.
No fires are permitted in or near the skip. Any damage caused to the skip while in the hirer’s possession will be charged for. 

10. Collection & Access
A £40 wasted journey charge will apply if we attend to collect a skip and are unable to do so at the agreed date or time due to restricted access, the skip not being ready, or any other issue outside our control.

11. Permits & Highway Placement
Permits are required by law when skips are placed on a public highway.
The hirer is responsible for obtaining the necessary permit from the local authority prior to delivery.
The hirer is also responsible for providing and maintaining warning cones and night lamps where required.

12. Payment
Payment in full is required before delivery of the skip.
Skips will not be delivered until payment has been received.
